Man Wanted In Palo Alto Co. Arrested In California, Extradited Back To NW Iowa

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– An Emmetsburg man wanted for contempt of court has been returned to Palo Alto county.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant for 46-year-old David Aaron Koenck, Senior of Emmetsburg when he failed to show up for a trial in December of last year on a charge of second degree sexual abuse of a child under 12. The charge stems from an alleged incident last spring.

Koenck was arrested by federal marshalls December 29th of last year in California and was held in the San Francisco county jail on charges there. Following court appearances, he waived extradition and his custody was transferred to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office today (Wednesday).

Koenck is being held in the Palo Alto county jail awaiting a court appearance.
