(Sioux City)– A Humboldt man has been sentenced in federal court on a firearms charge.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 31-year-old DJ McMillan will serve more than two years in federal prison in a sentence handed down Thursday.
McMillan pleaded guilty in June of this year to possession of a stolen firearm and ammunition by a felon. As part of a plea deal, McMillan admitted he was convicted of burglary in 2014 and knew he was prohibited from possessing guns and ammunition.
Authorities say McMillan possessed a stolen gun following a shoplifting incident from a Target store on November 25th of last year, and that he also possessed ammunition he shoplifted from a Menard’s store earlier that same day.
