(Spirit Lake)– The State Medical Examiner is scheduled to perform an autopsy today (Tuesday) on the body of a man found deceased Monday in a Spirit Lake apartment.
Spirit Lake Police Chief Jeff Hanson says officers were summoned to do a welfare check on an apartment complex on Hill Avenue where they found 34-year-old Christopher John Larson deceased.
Hason says officers found some unidentified chemicals in the apartment, and the complex was evacuated as a precaution. An investigation by agents with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement determined none of the chemicals were hazardous and residents were allowed back into their apartments.
Hanson says the case remains under investigation by the Spirit Lake Police Department, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
