(Spirit Lake)– Don Muhm, a farm editor at the Des Moines Register for more than 30 years, has died.
He died Tuesday of a heart attack at his summer home in Spirit Lake. He was 78.
Muhm worked as farm editor from 1960 to 1993 when he retired.
He had worked for 39 years as a daily newspaper reporter, including time at the Marshalltown-Times Republican and Omaha World-Herald.
A memorial service for Muhm will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the West Des Moines United Methodist Church.
