(Spirit Lake)– A long-time member of the Spirit Lake Fire Board was honored Sunday at a reception at the Spirit Lake fire station.
Due to health reasons, Lynn Wallace of rural Spirit Lake has resigned from the board after 47 years of service.
Wallace tells KUOO news getting fire protection extended to all rural areas of Dickinson county is what led to his original interest in establishing the board and serving on it.
Wallace says there were many other highlights over those years, including construction of the present Spirit Lake fire station and the purchase of an aerial truck.
Spirit Lake Fire Chief David Kollasch presented Wallace with a plaque Sunday comemmorating his many years of service.
