November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A Primghar woman faces theft charges for allegedly passing fraudulent checks in several area communities last month.

The Spencer Police Department and O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says a series of closed account checks totaling more than 6,400-dollars had been written on Rebecca Marie Curtis’ bank account.

Curtis was originally arrested by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office for theft in the second degree for bad checks written in O’Brien county.

Curtis then turned herself in to Spencer police on Clay county charges of theft in the second degree and theft in the third degree in connection with 2,800-dollars in fraudulent checks written to various businesses in Spencer. She was booked into the Clay county jail.
