(Emmetsburg)– The operator of a local funeral home is accused of performing services even though his license had expired.
The state says Andrew Joyce, operator of Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg and Joyce-Alesch Funeral Home in Graettinger, allowed his license to expire in August, 2005 and didn’t renew it until September 11th of this year.
The Iowa Board of Mortuary Science has scheduled a hearing on the matter for December 13th.
