Local Business Awarded TSB Grant

(Des Moines)– A local business is one of four awarded loans through the state’s Targeted Small Business program.

Alison Hill, owner of Golden Ground in Cylinder, was awarded a 50-thousand dollar loan at four percent interest over five years.

The program allows persons with disabilities, women and minorities to start businesses and create new financial opportunities for themselves and others.

To qualify, a business must operate for a profit; have annual gross sales of less than four million dollars; be atleast 51 percent owned, operated and managed by a woman, minority or person with a disability; and must be certified as a “Targeted Small Business” by the Iowa Department of Inspection and Appeals.
