(Greenville)– A Greenville man picked the wrong place to park his car during a thunderstorm.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it got a call around 10:30 p.m. Sunday from Tyler Kruse of Greenville who reported his car had been damaged by a tree limb that fell on it while it was parked at 1206 Moore Street in Greeville.
Upon investigating a deputy determined the tree had been struck by lightning and part of it exploded, striking the car’s windshield and roof.
Damage was estimated at a little more than a thousand dollars.
No injuries were reported.
