A very large lighting display is once again up for the holidays, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Leuders Family Christmas Lights Show is once again on display north of Lake Park.
Roxie Lueders says the display continues to grow each year. “We’ve been doing it for probably 15 years or more. We started off with some icicle lights years ago and it’s just snowballed from there. Basically, every year we add something. This year we added 5 new things to our display and every year our light count goes up. So, we decided at 100,000 we were going to stop counting.”
She notes that Santa will be handing out treats on Saturday night at the display. “December 4th, Santa Claus is going to be there from 5:30 to 7:30, and we will have a bag of treats for the kids, candy canes for Grandmas, Grandpas, Moms and Dads. Santa will be at the end of our driveway so you can just drive up, put your windows down. Santa can talk to the kids, give them their treats, and the kids don’t even have to get out of the car.”
She adds that viewers can tune in for special music. “If you tune your radio to 97.5 then, the music the lights are playing to, will pipe into your radio and you can listen to the music in your car while you watch the lights dance to that song.”
The display is located at 1078 110th Street, north of Lake Park.
