November 22, 2014

(Spencer)—Charges have been filed against an Everly man following a lengthy investigation by the Spencer Police Department and the Clay County Attorney’s Office.

Authorities say 39-year-old Shane Habben has been charged with theft in the second degree…a class “D” felony; and three counts of forgery…also class “D” felonies.

Habben turned himself in to authorities Wednesday and was cited into court at a later date.

Authorities say the charges stem from an initial complaint made to the Spencer Police Department back on March 19th, 2007 into possible improprieties at a financial institution in Spencer.
