(Ames)– An organization that has established a collaboration among Dickinson county’s 13 museums has been awarded a significant contribution.
The Lakes Area Museum Alliance, or LAMA, was presented with $100,000 development grant from Spirit of Okoboji and the Kinnetz Family Office. The presentation was made to LAMA Program Director Mary Dreier Tuesday (Oct. 20th) at the Iowa Museum Association State Conference in Ames.
The grant was awarded in recognition of the group’s work connecting Dickinson county’s museums, preserving local history and helping residents and visitors discover the stories of the Iowa Great Lakes region along with an expanded website at LakesMuseum.org. It also recognizes the dedication of museum leaders, volunteers and supporters.
