(Arnolds Park)– It was announced this (Friday) morning Jon Pausley will be stepping down as Executive Director at the Okoboji Bible Conference Ministries to become the new CEO of Arnolds Park. Pausley tells KUOO news he’ll be stepping down from the leadership position at the Bible Conference effective this coming April 29th…
“As with any position that you love it’s a little bitter-sweet to be stepping away from. I had a wonderful four years of working with Bible Conference staff and board of directors and just enjoyed all of the tenure I’ve had and the things we’ve been able to accomplish here from re-doing our campus and capital campaign to being able to create great partnerships around the city and also with Arnolds Park.”
Pausley says the Board of Directors of the Okoboji Bible Conference Ministries have appointed an interim leader…
“They have an interim Executive Director already named, his name is Mark Newhouse. He has been a longtime friend of the conference and a past board chair. He lives down in Omaha but will be spending quite a bit of time in Okoboji over the next few months, and then they’ll start a search right away for a new director.”
And as far as his new job as CEO at Arnolds Park, Pausley says he couldn’t be more excited…
“My family and I love Arnolds Park. What a great mission of operating the park in a clean and friendly experience for generations and preserving the history for generations to come. And so I’m really excited about the opportunity. I saw the job posting came after Jeff stepped down and thought that might be something I’d be really interested in, and ended up going through the application process with the board of directors and it was just evident to me that this was something that this was something I wanted in the future and it would be a great fit and so I’m really excited about the opportunity. I begin there on May 1st and am looking forward to learning the processes that happen down there and excited to lead and make it new memories for generations of families in the future. You know, Arnolds Park is just such a hub of our area and there’s so many great things that are happening down there with the new stage and Lake Street. It’s really evident that the best of Arnolds Park is yet to come.”
Pausley adds he’s really excited to help play a role in that…
“I’m just really excited to maximize the opportunity to bring new acts into town, to able to work with our board and staff and say how can we make the park a better place for people to come and visit. It’s going to be hard to top, it’s so beautiful down there now. But I’m looking forward to seeing what the vision is for how we can expand our reach, gain more influence in the area with people, and really just make it a regional place for people to come and continue to make memories.”
Pausley thanks those he’s worked with over the years while he was Executive Director at the Okoboji Bible Conference Ministries. He adds there will be no interruptions to the 2022 Okoboji Bible Conference as a result of the transition.
