(Jackson, Mn.)– A Spirit Lake woman was seriously injured while riding her bicycle over the weekend in Jackson county.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says 48-year-old Kathy Skalbeck of Spirit Lake was riding a bike northbound on County Road 17 just south of County Road 68 in Middletown Township Saturday when some corn stalks blew across the road.
Authorities say Skalbeck swerved to miss the stalks, causing her to lose control and crash onto the roadway.
Skalbeck was taken by ambulance to the Jackson Medical Center and was transferred by air to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. There was no word on her condition or extent of injuries.
The mishap took place around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
