Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association to present Rock for Ukraine Concert April 11

March 29, 2022 Becky Thoreson

(Arnolds Park)-The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association will hold a Rock for Ukraine concert on Monday, April 11.

Executive Director Clay Norris says the show will feature three bands:

“Terry Klein, which many people know around here, he’s a Hall of Fame member of our Association, well, he called and said that he had this great idea and why don’t we do a show, like a Rock the Roof type of event, but do it for the people of Ukraine. We just thought, what a great idea so, he got on the phone and everybody he called said, yep, I’m in. So, we end up having three groups. It’s going to be The Senders, The Itty Bitty Boji Band and Lake Patrol, as well. So, it’s going to be a great evening.”

He adds that proceeds from the event will be donated to a non-rofit based in Sioux Falls:

We’re asking for a minimum donation of $10. I mean, a typical Rock the Roof is $10. You’re welcome to give more if you’d like to. This is all going to go to an organization called Arise Ukraine out of Sioux Falls, and they have people on the ground over there. I saw a video lately that they were able to deliver a whole truck load of food and supplies right to the people that needed it. So, we felt like this was a great way to maximize the amount of money and make sure that it was getting into the right hands.”

The concert will start at 6 pm on April 11.
