Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation Announces New Online Tool

(Spencer)– The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation is out with a new tool for those looking to start up their own business. Corridor CEO Shannon Landauer says the online service is called SizeUpIowaLakes…
“This is an opportunity for those that are considering doing business in the region or maybe an existing business that’s looking to grow or add product lines to do a little bit of market research on their own time. It’s got all kinds of information from demographics, suppliers, competition, seeing a little bit about where the market covers for the area. You know, every day we know that people are looking at our region from outside and we want to make sure that they really have access to good data that sets them up well for doing business within the corridor region.”
Landauer says we’re in the midst of an entrepreneurship boom right now, stemming largely from the pandemic. And she says some of that is coming from people from larger metropolitan areas looking to start up a business in the corridor…
“We have seen some traffic out of metro areas. We’re seeing people that really want to emphasize making the most of their time raising their families in places that are comfortable and a lot of times they may have a connection to that area. But you know the corridor area is attractive in that every community has its own personality and its own assets and offerings. And so again, this lets people even from out of state that have never, ever been exposed to the corridor area, if they happen to find one of our communities, it offers a great amount of data that support their decision to consider this area for a business.”
Landauer says the service will be available for free through the corridor’s website beginning in early March.
