October 04, 2021 Becky Thoreson

It’s the first Coffee House of the academic season at Iowa Lakes Community College Tuesday night, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

Iowa Lakes Community College Music Department will hold the first Coffee House of the season on Tuesday evening.

Instrumental Music Professor Carol Ayres says it will be held at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center. “We’re going to have our first Coffee House in the new performing arts center, and we’re really excited. We’ll have solos and small groups like the Men’s Ensemble and the Women’s Ensemble and the Hand Bells will all be playing, and then we’ll have various solos and duets by college students. I’m not sure if anybody from the community is performing at this first one, but we have another one coming up in the middle of November, and so there will be another opportunity.”

She notes that the event is free and open to the public. “It’s free. Just come to the new building. Most of it’s going to be in the lobby, but our bigger groups may have to end up being inside in the auditorium. We’re going to have coffee and treats, and it’s open to the public.”

The concert will start at 6:30 Tuesday evening.
