Iowa Lakes Community College has announced their Spring Musical, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Lakes Community College Music Department has announced their Spring Musical will be Mamma Mia.
Instrumental Music Professor Carol Ayres says, the department had originally planned to perform the musical a couple of years ago:
“Well, it’s going to be really fun because we’re finally going to get to do it! We were supposed to do it in 2020, and then, you know, we got shut down, so now we get to do it all over again. It’s really going to be awesome. Everybody loves the music and the characters, and it’s just a really fun musical.”
She notes that auditions will be held at the end of the month:
“Our auditions will be held Sunday, January 30, Monday, January 31 and Tuesday, February 1. Any students from grades 4 through 12 will be at 6 o’clock, and any adults will be at 7 o’clock. You only have to come one night. They can prepare to sing anything, but we prefer that they have accompaniment. “
Performances are slated for April 7-9 at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center in Estherville.
