Iowa Labor Commissioner: State Won’t Enforce National Vaccine Mandate

January 10, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Des Moines)– Iowa’s labor commissioner says the state won’t enforce the national vaccine mandate.  The U-S Supreme Court is currently hearing oral arguments over the mandate from the Biden administration for businesses with more than 100 employees.

Commissioner Rod Roberts says his office has concluded Iowa’s existing standards are at least as effective as the change backs by the federal government.  Governor Kim Reynolds has released a statement supporting Roberts’ decision.
