Incident Outside Milford Gentleman’s Club Results In Murder Charges Against Three Men

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Three men face murder charges in connection with an incident early last Friday outside a Milford gentleman’s club.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says a joint investigation with the Milford Police Department resulted in the arrest today of three men in connection with the incident. They’re identified as 30-year-old John Allen Swan and 29-year-old Scott Thomas Adair…both of Crossett, Arkansas; and 29-year-old Michael James Friedrichs of Forest City.

All three were arrested and charged with murder in the first degree…a class “A” felony.

Authorities say the charges stem from the death of 25-year-old Matthew Thomas Begtrup of Sioux Falls, who died of injuries he sustained in an altercation allegedly involving the three suspects. It happened around 2:00 a.m. Friday outside Zippers.

Milford police were assisted on the scene by the Arnolds Park and Okoboji Police Departments, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Milford Rescue and the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance.
