ILCC Trustees Approve Wage Increases

(Spencer)– The board of trustees of Iowa Lakes Community College approved salary increases for the 2007-2008 college year at their meeting Tuesday in Spencer.

It represents a five percent total package increase for the 2008 fiscal year for all college employees. In addition, faculty members will receive additional equity compensation, along with an additional state appropriation approved in the last session of the legislature.

In other business, ILCC trustees voted to retain the services of a law firm to pursue the application of a non-commercial license from the Federal Communications Commission for a permanent radio station for the college’s broadcasting program.

Trustees also approved signing a confidentiality agreement with Lubrizol, a company that makes gearbox and other lubricants for wind turbines. Terms of the agreement call for Iowa Lakes Community College to help perform research and development…with the data being kept confidential.

ILCC trustees also approved an increase in the current mileage rate to 40 cents per mile for faculty and staff using personal vehicles for college business. The change is effective July 1st.
