Ice Causes Rollovers On I-90 And Hwy. 60 In Sw. Minnesota

(Worthington, Mn.)– Icy roads resulted in a rollover Wednesday on Interstate 90 near Worthington.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 29-year-old Farrah Chavez of Sioux Falls lost control of a 2002 Ford Explorer that left the road and overturned in the median.

Chavez was treated at the Worthington hospital for some minor injuries and was released. No injuries were reported to two passengers.

Moderate damage was reported to the vehicle.

The mishap took place around 4:00 p.m.

A mishap that took place around 5:00 p.m. on Highway 60 in Nobles county sent several people to the hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 25-year-old Nelson Lozada-Velazquez lost control of a 1998 Pontiac Transport on the ice-covered road. The westbound vehicle slid backward into the ditch where it rolled several times.

Velazquez and several passengers, including 28-year-old Mirlydia Delgado, 19-year-old Cesar Augustin and 24-year-old Merloda Sigudora…all of Worthington…were taken to the Windom hospital where they were treated and released.

Another passenger, 20-year-old Angel Revera of Worthington, was treated and released from the Worthington hospital.

The vehicle was totalled.
