Ia. D.O.T To Hold Meeting On Proposed Improvements To Hwy. 86

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Officials with the Iowa Department of Transportation will hold a meeting in early August to talk about proposed improvements to Highway 86 between Highway Nine and the Minnesota border.

Dakin Schultz, District Three Planner with the D.O.T’s regional office in Sioux City, tells KUOO news the August 2nd session will address two projects on Highway 86: one is to straighten out the curves at the Minnesota border which Schultz says will result in a relocation of the road in that area; the other is for plans and an environmental study on the rebuilding of 86 from Highway Nine to the Minnesota border.

The August 2nd meeting will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Dickinson County Community Building in Spirit Lake.

Schultz says those with concerns and questions will be able to have them addressed one-on-one with D.O.T officials at that session.
