(West Des Moines)– Hy-Vee has announced plans to have security personnel on duty in stores across their eight-state region.
The grocery chain says the officers have been trained to “defuse situations and equipped to protect the safety of both Hy-Vee customers and employees”. The company says the officers will be present in stores during regular operating hours and that they have been trained by Hy-Vee retail security leaders and law enforcement partners.
Hy-Vee says the officers are in stores now and that more will soon be completing training.
