November 22, 2014

(Lakefield, Mn.)– No injuries were reported, but there was a considerable amount of property damage Friday night in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 86 at the Iowa/Minnesota border.

The Minnesota State Patrol says it involved vehicles driven by 20-year-old Joshua Butrous of Elk Point, South Dakota and 42-year-old Brian Vanderaarde of Sioux Falls.

Details into how the two collided weren’t immediately available.

Severe damage was reported to a 1999 Buick Century driven by Butrous and to a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Vanderaarde.

The mishap took place shortly before 10:30 p.m.

Authorities say it was snowing at the time and visibility was greatly reduced in blowing snow.
