(Wahpeton)– A single-vehicle crash early Saturday near the intersection of Highway 86 and 175th Street near Wahpeton sent one person to the hospital.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Gary Jones of Lake Park was northbound on Highway 86 when his dog jumped into his lap, causing him to lose control.
A 2005 Dodge Ram pickup he was driving left the road and rolled in the west ditch.
Jones was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with non-incapacitating injuries. No injuries were reported to the dog.
Authorities say charges may be filed pending lab results.
The crash took place around 1:45 a.m. Saturday.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Milford and Spirit Lake Police Departments, Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance, Spirit Lake First Responders and the Spirit Lake Fire Department.
