(Sibley)– More good news for motorists on Highway 60.
Officials with the Iowa Department of Transportation say the Highway 60 bypass around Sibley will open to traffic Wednesday (10/31), weather permitting.
Although the bypass will be open, officials say construction work will continue in that area with a short portion of head-to-head traffic on both ends of the bypass to construct connections for the new southbound lanes.
D-O-T officials add the second avenue interchange will not be opened until the permanent connection is built into Sibley. Motorists going into Sibley will have to use Osceola County Road A-22 or the Highway nine interchanges.
Cedar Valley Corporation of Waterloo is the prime contractor on the 20.25 million dollar Highway 60 project.
