(Emmetsburg)– Highway 18 east of Emmetsburg was closed today (Monday) as a result of possible damage to a bridge caused by this past weekend’s heavy rains in that area.
The bridge, located about 1.4 miles west of Cylinder or 5.3 miles east of Emmetsburg, is being inspected by a D.O.T inspection team.
Depending on the findings, the highway is expected to reopen in that area later in the day tomorrow (Tuesday).
