Housing Collaboratives Awarded Funding Through Iowa Finance Authority

(Des Moines)– Two northwest Iowa groups have been awarded funds through a program offered by the Iowa Finance Authority.

Community Housing Initiatives of Spencer will receive 90-thousand dollars for the acquisition and rehabilitation of two three-bedroom single-family houses that will be made available for lease/purchase as part of CHI’s homeownership education and counseling program.

And Family Crisis Centers of Northwest Iowa, based out of Sioux Center, will receive 90-thousand dollars to assist in the construction of a new facility that will provide emergency shelter, transitional housing and office and programming space for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
