(Milford)– A holiday tradition is coming back to Milford this year. The Milford Commercial Club will once again be holding their “Holiday Fantasy Celebration” this coming Friday, December 3rd and Saturday, December 4th. Event organizer Susan Reiser say things get underway Friday with a visit from Santa Clause at United Community Bank from 3:00 until 6:00 pm. She says that will be followed by a full day of activities on Saturday…
“Saturday, then, about 9:30, the Milford Public Library is hosting a variety of activities for children and I think that would be a fun time. They have their tree contest, they have crafts, they have lots of different things that children and younger age people can do there. At 11:00 the doors open to our annual chili and soup feed at the Milford Community Center. That is a free event. Several businesses, organizations and individuals throughout the Milford community have, or will be making, their most valued recipe of a soup or a chili to serve to the public.”
She adds a raffle will also be held, with tickets currently on sale…
“We have a large variety of wonderful gifts that have been donated by generous Milford community businesses, and the Commercial Club is putting in a couple of bigger items there. Raffle tickets are available at Sunshine Foods and Boji Junction so you want to make sure you get your raffle tickets. That drawing starts at 1:00 on Saturday, immediately following the chili and soup feed.”
Following that, a free movie titled “Arthur’s Christmas” will be shown at 1:30 pm Saturday at the Pioneer Theatre. The main event, the Holiday Fantasy Parade, will begin at 6:00 pm Saturday with the lineup at 5:30 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The route will then go south on Highway 71 to Faith Community Church.
