(Hartley)– A Hartley man was injured in a single-vehicle rollover Sunday on Highway 18 in O’Brien county.
The Iowa State Patrol says 22-year-old Joshua Combs of Hartley was eastbound on Highway 18 and had just passed two vehicles when he lost control after hitting a patch of frost. A 1983 Ford LTD he was driving left the road and went into the north ditch where it went through a wire fence and rolled twice before coming to rest on its wheels.
Combs was ejected through the driver’s side window. He was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital with incapacitating injuries.
Severe damage was reported to the vehicle.
Combs was charged with speed too fast for conditions.
The mishap took place around 9:30 a.m.
