(Arnolds Park)– The board of directors of Historic Arnolds Park, Incorporated got a first-hand look at their meeting Wednesday of the final preparations being made for this weekend’s official opening of the Arnolds Park Amusement Park.
One of the main highlights of the upcoming season is the 80th anniversary of the Legend Rollercoaster. Scott Pyle of Historic Arnolds Park, Incorporated says a special ceremony commemorating the event is planned for June 24th. It will include a ribbon cutting and catered champagne brunch.
Pyle added there will be a special exhibit on display in the Maritime Museum throughout the summer depicting the coaster’s history.
The public will get a sneak peak of what the park will have to offer for the upcoming season, including a new ride, during the “HAPI Family Free Fun Night” from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday (May 18th).
HAPI board members also Wednesday were updated on a new “point of sales” system for selling tickets and merchandise in the park. Pyle says it will be a great help in keeping track of merchandise. He added it will be a viable tool for future marketing as they’ll be able to determine exactly who’s using the park and where they’re coming from.
The park officially opens to the public this weekend (May 19th and 20th).
