Group Home Fire Injures One Person; Arson Ruled As Cause

November 22, 2014

(Primghar)– Authorities say a resident of a group home for adults near Primghar was burned in an arson fire.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says a fire in a storage shed near the Pride Group Home was reported early Wednesday. Deputies say a man was found at the scene. The man, who hasn’t been identified, was taken to a local hospital and then flown to a hospital in Minneapolis.

Authorities say the fire started in the middle of the shed, and a liquid accelerant is believed to have started it.

Pride Group Home spokeswoman Eunice Wilson said today (Thursday) no information about the man was being released. She says someone saw flames coming from the shed and reported the fire.
