Grass Fire in Wallingford

The Wallingford Fire Department were called to a grass fire shortly after noon Sunday, July 29, at the Reintz farm located a mile and a half south of Wallingford on Hwy 4. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find approximately three acres of grassland burning, as well as lumber and other materials in the area. Foam had to be used to help extinguish the blaze. Authorities say the cause of the fire came from combustion of nearby materials which then spread to the grassy area. No injuries were reported. The Wallingford Fire Department was on the scene for 2 and a half hours.
