(Lake Park)– Efforts to improve and protect water quality in Silver Lake near Lake Park are getting a boost.
Steve Anderson of the Cleanwater Alliance says a grant has been awarded to the Dickinson County Soil and Water Conservation District that will fund a study of the lake’s watershed.
Anderson says they plan to hire someone to conduct the assessment within the next month so they can get started before spring fieldwork begins.
He says the grant was made possible through a matching grant awarded by the Dickinson County Water Quality Commission.
Anderson adds they plan to do additional water quality monitoring on Silver Lake.
