Grain Theft From Local Elevator Results In Charges

November 22, 2014

(Everly)– A theft of grain from a local elevator has led to charges against a Spencer man.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it stems from a report of a theft of grain from Great Lakes Co-op in Everly.

Upon investigating, authorities discovered about 441 bushels of beans had allegedly been stolen and resold to the elevator.

Authorities say based on their investigation, 41-year-old Christie Daly was arrested Tuesday and charged with first degree theft…a class “D” felony.

She was booked into the Clay county jail.
