Governor Kim Reynolds Signs Disaster Proclamation

December 16, 2021 Steve Schwaller

(Des Moines)– Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for a number of Iowa counties impacted by Wednesday’s severe weather. Counties in our area that are included under the proclamation are Buena Vista, Cherokee, Emmet, Humboldt, Kossuth, O’Brien, Palo Alto and Pocahontas.

It allows state resources to be used to respond and recover from the severe weather. It also activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program for qualifying residents along with the Disaster Case Management Program.

Information on how residents in the affected counties can apply can be found at the Iowa Department of Human Services website.
