(Spirit Lake)– The price of gas this (Thurs.) morning topped three dollars a gallon at most lakes area service stations.
Prices at most Spirit Lake stations had risen to $3.09…an increase of nine to ten cents a gallon overnight.
And analysts say little or no relief is in site due to refinery disruptions and higher demand with the summer driving season.
The impact on the local economy remains to be seen. Some people say the high gas prices will result in them changing their spending habits–spending less on entertainment and other non-necessities.
When it comes to tourism, many people say they’ll be taking shorter trips this summer.
