A free family event is being offered at Lakeside Lab during Winter Games, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Iowa Lakeside Laboratory will host a Soup ‘n Slide event on Sunday.
Education Coordinator Ashley Hansen says the family-oriented event will feature indoor and outdoor fun. “Sunday, January 30th from 11 am to 1 pm, we are going to have our Soup ‘n Slide event. So, we’re going to have various soups that people can come and have and some desserts, that’ll be in the Dining Hall, and then, just right outside the Dining Hall we have our big sledding hill. We have a few sleds but people are welcome to bring their own sleds as well, and we’ll also have some snowshoes, so people can do some snowshoeing around campus. For those of us who would like to stay a little warmer, we will also have some arts and crafts inside the Dining Hall as well
She notes that a free will offering will be accepted. “It’s just a free-will donations. It’s for people of all ages so, you can sled as a kid, or if you’re a kid at heart, you can bring your sled and sled as well.”
