(Wahpeton)– What used to be a popular restaurant in Wahpeton is about to be rennovated into a private residence.
The Wahpeton city council Monday unanimously approved a Planning and Zoning Commission recommendation to rezone land on which the former Crescent Beach restaurant stands from Commercial to Lakefront Residential.
Randy Kempf, the new President of Cycle Country in Milford, is purchasing the former restaurant and plans to remodel it into a home.
The council was also updated by City Attorney Don Hemphill over plans by the owners of Crescent Beach Resort to lease those units with a stipulation that no one would be able to occupy one for more than 30 consecutive days so as to meet a city ordinance. Council members expressed concern over how to police that.
