Former Primghar Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Drug Charge

February 08, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Sioux City)– A man formerly from Primghar has pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge. 45-year-old Daniel Trevino entered the plea last week to a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Trevino admitted at a plea hearing to being involved in a conspiracy that distributed more than 500 grams of meth. Prosecutors say Trevino was pulled over in a traffic stop on April 24th of last year and that officers found a scale, cell phones and drug paraphernalia in a bag in the vehicle, along with a black magnetic box that fell from the steering column that contained about a quarter of a pound of methamphetamine.

Sentencing for Trevino will be set once a pre-sentence report is completed.

The case was investigated by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa DCI Laboratory.
