(Wallingford)– Several area fire departments battled a hay bale fire near Wallingford late Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The Wallingford Fire Department was called to the area just south of 430th Avenue and 230th Street in Emmet county where they found a number of hay bales on fire near a structure. Firefighters from Estherville and Gruver also responded. They were able to quickly knock the fire down and were able to keep it from spreading.
No injuries were reported. Firefighters were on the scene about three hours.
