(Terril)– A fire north of Terril Tuesday destroyed a barn and damaged an out-building, a house and a corn crib.
Terril Fire Chief Tim Mathews says firefighters were called around 3:30 p.m. to the Robert Fisher residence two miles north of Terril on County Road N-14.
Mathews says residents were burning off some grass when the fire got away and spread to a barn.
The barn and its contents, including some hay, a skid loader and a boat, were destroyed.
The fire also spread to a well pump house, which was also destroyed; and the roof of a corn crib was damaged.
Mathews says the blaze was so hot it melted some electrical wires and some vinyl siding on a nearby house.
Terril firefighters were on the scene until about 7:00 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
