(Spirit Lake)– The city of Spirit Lake will be flushing fire hydrants next week on the northeast side of town, East of Hill Avenue and north of Highway 9.
City officials say residents in that area may notice a temporary drop in water pressure while the flushing is going on in their neighborhood, along with some discolored water. Residents should run cold water until it is once again clear.
The flushing in that area will begin Monday and is expected to last about a week.
City officials say flushing and maintenance of fire hydrants is important to make sure they’re working properly in the event of a fire.
