Fire Destroys House N.E. Of Graettinger

November 22, 2014

(Graettinger)– A heat lamp in a dog house that ignited some bedding material has been sited as the probable cause of a fire Friday evening that destroyed a house northeast of Graettinger.

The State Fire Marshall says the fire got into a wall of a garage that was attached to the house and quickly spread from there.

Firefighters found the structure totally engulfed upon arriving.

The home was being rented by Brandi Refsell. No one was in the house at the time.

Firefighters from Graettinger, Wallingford, Gruver and Ringsted battled the blaze for a couple of hours Friday evening.
