(Spirit Lake)– Offices to be housed in the second phase of Dickinson county’s new courthouse have received the go-ahead to move into the new facility.
The State Fire Marshall gave his stamp of approval Thursday on the second phase of the new building.
As a result, county officials say the Recorder’s Office, one of the offices to be housed in the second phase, is closed today (Friday) and Monday.
Other offices started moving almost immediately after the final approval came, including County Attorney, Community Service, Emergency Management, Veteran’s Services, the I-T Department, and supervisors.
Department of Human Services had nearly completed their move into the new courthouse as of this (Fri.) morning.
The Clerk of Court’s office is moving to its new location in the second phase both today (Fri.) and Saturday.
The County Engineer and Planning and Zoning offices will move into the new courthouse Tuesday, January 8th, followed by the County Auditor on Wednesday, January 9th.
At that point, ALL county offices will be located within the courthouse–something that hasn’t happened in many, many years in Dickinson county.
