(Ocheyedan)– A fiery crash last week near Ocheyedan injured a Sibley man.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Joshua Kuester of Sibley was eastbound on 170th Street west of White Avenue when he fell asleep at the wheel.
The vehicle went into the south ditch and through a soybean field. It struck a creek embankment and came to rest in a pasture where it caught on fire.
Kuester was transported by ambulance to Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley with unknown injuries.
A 1989 Oldsmobile he was driving was totaled.
A soybean field owned by Joe Hibma was also damaged.
Kuester was cited for failure to maintain control.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Ocheyedan Fire Department.
