(Des Moines)– A Dickinson county farm was officially designated a “Century Farm” at this year’s Iowa State Fair.
To qualify, a family must have owned their farmstead for 100 years or more.
Leslie Moore, Eleanore Moore, Jeff Moore, Eric Moore, Bill Moore and Jana Harris received a Century Farm certificate and yard sign from the Department of Agriculture and Farm Bureau, making the designation official.
A total of 344 farms were recognized in the program this year, making it more than 16,200 farms from across the state that have received the Century Farm designation.
