Everly Man Charged For Allegedly Point Gun At His Father

November 22, 2014

(Everly)– An Everly man has been charged for allegedly pointing a gun at his father.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a report of a subject out of control at an apartment at 203 East Wilson Street in Everly shortly after 10:00 p.m. Monday.

Upon investigating authorities arrested 21-year-old James Martinez on a charge of domestic abuse assault…an aggravated misdemeanor. Martinez was booked into the Clay county jail after being released from the hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the incident.

Deputies say Martinez’s father managed to take the .32 caliber gun away from him prior to their arrival. The gun was seized as evidence.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department.
