It’s time for the Parade of Lights in Estherville, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Estherville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their Chocolate Walk and Holiday Parade of Lights on Thursday evening.
Executive Director Lexie Ruter says, area businesses will offer specials and treats during the Chocolate Walk. “From 4-7, you can head to downtown Estherville, and we have 13 different businesses that are going to be having chocolate treats and samples and also, holiday steals and deals throughout the night, so it’s a great way to kick off your shopping.”
She adds that the Parade Of Lights will be shortened a bit this year. “We love our Parade of Lights, it’s so magical. So at 7 pm, we’ll be having the kick off for the Parade of Lights. We are shortening the route a little bit this year just to be a little nicer to our parade floats. It’s a little shorter, a little less time walking in the cold. So we’ll be going from 9th Street to 5th Street in Estherville. So if you come out to Central Avenue at 7 pm, you’ll get to take a look at that really pretty parade. When it’s done, have all the kids come to Library Square, and Santa will meet us there, and we can all use the magic of Christmas to light Library Square together.”
